Can shooting four dogs together be difficult? Of course! Can it also be hilariously chaotic? Yes, that too. Is it fun? Heck yes! I do love a challenge ;)
Meet Juno & Dexter the whippets and Barley & Trufa the galgos who found me on Instagram. Their humans were brilliant and didn't mind getting to Frensham super early to get some lovely light and also make sure that the hounds didn't get too hot (back when the weather was actually nice).
We started off with some portraits and action shots of the whippets in the heather and then we tried, oh how we tried, to get all four dogs running together. I always say when I have the pre-shoot call that if something isn't working for the hounds, that's fine, we move on and try something else - doesn't mean it's not fun trying to get that shot though. The dogs certainly enjoyed it!
I think my personal favourites images of the day are Trufa's amazing super huge ears on the action shots. All the hounds had really distinct personalities and I loved them all, but if you pushed me, I think my biggest soft spot was for the sweet & sensative Juno with the different coloured eyes.
I now only almost fully booked until the end of August so I'm taking bookings for September; drop me an email to firstname.lastname@example.org if you'd like to book :)
You are crazy about your dog and want beautiful portraits for your home, I'm a professional photographer who is also known as crazy dog lady. It's a match made in heaven! Think your dog won’t perform for the camera? Won’t sit still, not great off lead, too excitable? I work on a dog by dog basis, we have a chat to figure out how to get the best from your furry friend.
