Surrey Pet Photographer: A little soap with a big impact

October 20, 2014  •  4 Comments

My Whippets (probably like the majority of Whippets), don't actually get dirty very often, so I very rarely need dog shampoo. When a lovely little package in the form of Saphooni Shampoo arrived on my doorstep, I took it as a challenge to let the pooches have a bit of fun. So off we trundled to West Wittering beach where the boys were more than happy to indulge in a bit of sandy fun, Boo however looked on in complete distain at the antics (well, she is a Princess after all).

Back at home, they all had the benefit of a nice shower (they were not amused). The thing that first I noticed was how quickly it foamed up - I didn't expect such a lovely lather from a shampoo block, I thought I may have to work at it a bit. It made the whole shower process quick and painless, especially as it rinsed off easily and didn't seem to leave any residue. The end result was squeaky clean pooches smelling nice and fresh! I can't comment on whether it repels insects, but it does include peppermint oil & citronella, both of which are a natural repellent for insects including fleas.

The only thing I am left wondering is....can I use it??

Saphooni Natural Pet Soap is available from the fabulous new webite The Cornish High Street - celebrating local Cornish suppliers. http://www.thecornishhighstreet.com/natural-dog-shampoo~183

Hi Manuela,
I'm told by several owners of fox-poo loving dogs that it also helps to eliminate the pong. Jo, Sapooni.

Thank you for the lovely review on our Insect Repelling Dog Shampoo! Would you like to test one of our best-selling "human" soaps, made with Cornish ingredients? They have the same lovely lather, & they're packed with skin-loving ingredients... email me on info@sapooni.com & i'll send you some, & have a look at www.sapooni.com to choose a soap... Jo x

I would love to know whether they also do a "Fox Poo" soap as the smell is always a pain to get off, not to mention the actual sticky residue. If they do, i would love to put it to the test on my mutts as they tend to celebrate the first Cowpat of the year with utter gusto and Daffster just loves to smell all "Foxy".

Such a lovely blog and great photos of the guys enjoying their walk and after clean up! Mine have such glistening coats too. x
